My weight loss journey has been a very long struggle. I have been chasing the easy ways to lose weight fast for my entire life.

It wasn’t until I decided to stop searching for the miracle cure that I became healthier, happier and in control of my life for the first time in my life. Below is my journey and some of the tools that I used to finally change my life.

I am the type of person that needs constant motivation from outside sources (personal trainers, fad diets etc.), to keep me on the right track when it comes to my health. At least, this is how I lived the first half of my life, and needless to say, it just does not work. I always thought that there was just not enough time for my health. I was just too busy with work, with my kids, with my life to have time for my own weight loss. What I finally realized is that I CAN make the time, and I actually can lose weight without having to radically alter my lifestyle.

I finally learned that living a healthy lifestyle is actually a way of life, not an easy way to lose weight fast. Once I changed my lifestyle, I found that everything else just fell into place. I still had time for my kids, I was still able to function at work and my life actually improved greatly. Instead of doing all these things and continuing to get fat, now I was doing these things and actually getting thinner and happier. I learned to live my life in a much more healthy way without making the drastic changes that all the fad diets call for you to do.

What I have learned

I have learned that most diets DO cause you to lose weight, but unfortunately that weight is typically water weight. The only thing this causes is dehydration and depression once that water begins to come back. I have learned that the only way to lose fat is by eating the right foods, in the right amount, accompanied by a healthy lifestyle. And no, I am not talking about counting calories here. I also learned the truth about low carb diets, low calorie diets and other restricted diets that completely crush your metabolism and throw your body into mass confusion.
